GeodeticSurveyors |
Geodists map the shape and size of the earth. They use Global Position Systems (GPS) to pinpoint the exact location – within centimeters – of an object on the Earth’s surface. How? They use GPS recievers on the ground to contact a minimum of 3 Global Position System satellites. The satellites share their exact time and coordinates which tells the reciever where it is on the surface of the earth. The geodist uses these measurments to facilitate the making of maps. |
